Coming soon to a farmers market near you – FSP!
Starting in June, three farmers’ markets in Baltimore City will begin accepting food stamp benefits via wireless EBT (electronic benefit transfer) machines: the Waverly/32nd Street Market, the Pimlico Farmers’ Market, and the Highlandtown Farmers’ Market. As an added bonus, customers using their EBT cards will be able to double their food stamp dollars up to $5 at the market. In addition to food stamp benefits, these markets will also be accepting debit cards; a benefit for customers who typically do not carry cash. Individual farmers at these markets will also be accepting the new WIC Fresh Fruit and Vegetable (FFV) checks, in addition to the WIC and Senior FMNP vouchers.
- The Pimlico Market opens Wednesday, June 2 and is open from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- The Waverly/32nd Street Market Summer Market opens Saturday, June 12 and is open from 7:00 a.m. – noon.
- The Highlandtown Markets opens Saturday, July 10 and is open from 8:00 a.m. – noon.
